Christopher Frank Ocean must be feeling pretty good right now. Not only is the buzz for his Mixtape Nostalgia at an all-time high, his relationship with his estranged label, Def Jam is now very much on. They plan to re-release a commercial version of Nostalgia on July 16th. The album’s debut single, Novacane finally gets a video treatment, released today to the Internet. Nabil Elderkin directed the dark, moody clip that finds Ocean trying to keep his focus while clearly trippin off some seriously potent product. Watch below.

This is our first look at Ocean in solo artist mode, but you may have seen in recently in his group OFWGKTA aka Odd Future’s video for She. This is one of my favourite rap videos I have seen this year! It follows Odd Future’s lead Tyler the Creator as he stalks/pursues the pretty girl next door (who Ocean already hooks up with). The video is fresh, youthful and unique; easily one of the year’s best thus far!
