I have to admit, I wasn’t really excited for this video’s release since I was not feeling the song at first. But I just so happened to have a peak at the video yesterday and it blew my ChokLit mind! The video itself really is addictive and amazing; a rarity in today’s music scene. Rihanna and director Melina have created a video that speaks to its generation. We Found Love follows Rihanna and her handsome blonde co-star (played by British boxer/model Dudley O’Shaughnessy) through a tumultuous relationship that mixes drugs with sex, passion with pain, youth with chaos. Many will point out the similarities to Rihanna’s real-life chaotic relationship with singer Chris Brown, especially the scene with Rihanna and Dudley fighting in a car. But this video is much more than that. I see a MTV Video music award in Ms Fenty’s future.
